Bocelli Family Wines

The Bocelli 1831 farm is one of the most beautiful areas of the Tuscan Val d'Era, in the municipality of Lajatico, La Sterza, in the province of Pisa. It has an area of about 140 hectares, only partly wooded, in which grains are grown in rotation with forage and, above all, vines and olives. Active for four generations, it is the fruit of long, patient and passionate work of a family of peasant origins, who previously worked on the Prince Corsini property. Gaspero, the great-grandfather of the current owners - Andrea and his brother Alberto - in 1831 bought a core group of farmland, cultivating them with arable crops, fodder, fruits, olive trees and vineyards, in the name of the classic Tuscan farm tradition. Following on, his son Alcide continued his work while also giving beginning to commercial activity in the agricultural machinery sector. Gradually he managed to extend the property and focused his attention especially in wine production dedicating a good amount of his energy before handing over to his son Andrea and his brother Alberto, who continued with fervor and skill his work with the help of Alberto's wife, producing a good wine he sold in bulk in the Northern Italian market and of which he was particularly proud. When, at the end of the 90's when he became ill, the desire of both children (the success of Andrea had already exploded with "Il Mare Calmo della Sera") was to show him, as long as he was alive, to present his bottled wine with its own, precise "identity." But they did not have time: it was then that the two brothers decided to radically restructure the winery and vineyards, thus beginning - with the decisive contribution of the agronomist Alfredo Tocchini and enologist Paolo Caciorgna - a strict winemaking process leading the Company to its current levels.

Opus Club is very proud to present the BOCELLI 1831 Collection of Sparkling Wines.....

Prosecco Gran Cuvée - made from the Prosecco grape that is indigenous to the Veneto region, this sparkling wine has subtle flower and fruit aromas that make the palate deliciously light and playful. Unlike many Champagnes, it is not harsh – rather, it tickles the throat with a peachy softness, and is flecked with minerality that remains simple in the best of ways. Perfect perlage make it the ideal choice for any occasion.

Sparkling Brut Rosé - this Rosé is as gorgeous as it is delicious. The bubbles are tiny, numerous, pleasant to the palate, creating a lilting quality to the inviting sweet-tartness of the fruits. The color is derived from Pinot Noir, given life by the Prosecco, and longevity by the Chardonnay. It has an elegant, dry style, but has a ripeness that is pleasing, and perfect for an aperitif.

Fior D’Arancio - (meaning orange blossom) is one of the world’s unique wines, and a very rare clone of Moscato that derives its unmistakeable citrus scent from the orange groves growing nearby. This is a sparkling wine with refined bubbles and a beautiful, pearlescent colour. Fior d’Arancio is perfect as an aperitif or to accompany a delightful dessert.
